Prerequisites:  Desire to study Literature- Ability to write/discuss/analyze - High School Level Class 

Materials Required: Students will be required to read (or listen to) 1-2 books per month and need to be able to watch movies outside of class- approximately 2 per month  

Class Description:

We will be reading classic and modern literature and when possible comparing them to film versions. We will also study some short stories and poetry. Authors may include but are not limited to William Shakespeare, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Jane Austen, The Bronte Sisters, Mary Shelley, Bram Stoker, Alduous Huxley, Ray Bradbury, Nathaniel Hawthorne, Shel Silverstein, Jonathan Swift, Stephen King, George Orwell, Edgar Allen Poe, and others. This is not an exhaustive list, and students will have the opportunity to suggest/ request to study or analyze works of interest to them.
